“Operator” User Module

”Operator” UM is an element of IAS AAM and is an automated production and process control system (APPCS) installed in organizations carrying out maintenance and repair of aircraft equipment.

The UM has been developed in compliance with GOST R 54080-2010, regulation requirements in the field of AE maintenance valid in the Russian Federation as well as in compliance with the user requirements included into an approved technical requirements specification.


Basic difference of the Information analytical system of aircraft airworthiness monitoring (IAS AAM) from other similar products:

  • in terms of functional capabilities, the system entirely covers information needs of the subjects (developers, manufacturers, operators, maintenance organizations, national aviation administration);
  • the system has been developed by qualified experts of the industry R&D Institute with huge practical experience in civil aviation; therefore, problems are defined and solved with strong knowledge of the topic and with the purpose of bringing maximum profit to an aviation enterprise;
  • the system can be adapted to specific conditions being capable of keeping operation documents centrally at an industrial level;
  • the system is continuously evolving owing to the fact that it is updated by the subjects’ specialists;
  • data entered into a central database (CDB) and system updates become available to all subjects who have an authorized access to them;
  • an exchange interface between CDB and DB of user modules ensures uniform content and format of circulating information and completely self-sufficient functioning of the system subjects.

IAS AAM intended use is an information support of aircraft equipment technical maintenance (AETM) and aircraft airworthiness monitoring for all system members.

Based on functional tasks of the system subjects, user modules with local data bases have been developed.


“Operator” user module (UM) makes the following functions of an aircraft operator (maintenance organizations) automatic:

  • account of life-time and technical condition of AE and aircraft components being in operation;
  • production planning of an enterprise and maintaining AE use plans;
  • automated maintenance of aircraft M&R operation documents (OD);
  • generation and maintenance of electronic log books and maintenance records;
  • technological and design support during AE M&R including update of AE operation electronic documents;
  • automated generation of production and engineering documents (production tasks, selective job instruction cards, and other documents);
  • list of aircraft components failures, their reasons and troubleshooting. Analysis of the available data;
  • information support of AE technical maintenance by condition;
  • production preparation;
  • procurement;
  • automated generation of a complete range of report documents to provide for own activities and to submit into superior bodies including automatic generation of quarterly reports about life time of an aviation company fleet (as per FAR-132) for Interregional Territorial Department;
  • interaction with central data base of IAS AAM aimed to obtain actual information on AE state and operation documents;
  • automatic generation of exchange files for cooperation with State Research and Development Institute of Civil Aviation during authenticity evaluation and aircraft airworthiness monitoring.

“Aircraft component authenticity” SC
provides evidential documents by way of automatic generation of a set of output documents on AE M&R with a provision for signatures of specialists, originators and controllers to prove relevance and actuality of information in electronic log books (passports). “Authenticity” SC is used to enter data into UM data base (DB) on photo documentation of log books and maintenance records and expert and manufacturer conclusions on authenticity of specific AE components.

Membership in IAS AAM subjects provides an aviation enterprise with the following advantages:

  • procedures of aircraft component authenticity assessment, aircraft specimen certification, service life extension and operation in accordance with technical state are included into IAS AAM task complexes;
  • provision of actual operation documents regulating civil organization activities on a centralized basis including: regulatory and technical documents, organizational and administrative documents, typical operation and technical documents (integration with other IAS AAM user modules incl. “Supervision” user module installed in interregional territorial departments of air transport of Federal Agency for Air Transport);
  • generation of daily production tasks including selective job instruction cards by way of automatic interaction between electronic log books and maintenance records, operation electronic documents (maintenance regulations, airworthiness directives), and electronic inventory control;
  • automated generation of all-kind production and statistical reports including safety parameter calculation, technical and economic parameter calculation, etc.;
  • on-line display of “critical” information on Office terminal for aircraft airworthiness maintenance specifying the following:
    • reasons of aircraft downtime, non-conformity of current state with aircraft operation plans, risk of maintenance irregularity and maintenance irregularity, critical residual life, etc.
    • risk of failure and failure to meet contract and requisition dates for aviation inventory (AI) supply, for maintenance, repair, etc.;
    • critical AI stock balance at warehouses and ready issue stores, risk of failure and failure to meet AI storage deadline;
    • risk of failure and failure to meet claim settlement deadline.
  • No expensive licensed software is required to establish IAS AAM “Operator” UM at an aviation enterprise.

Your attention is specifically drawn to invariant nature of the system to aircraft equipment types and its operation strategies. The system can easily be adapted to maintenance and operation service support programs for domestic and foreign aircrafts.

Currently “Operator” UM is used at more than 35 enterprises in the Russian Federation and CIS countries, and the number of new subjects is continuously growing.
